PRODUCTION EXPEDITOR
THE POSITION
The Production Expeditor analyzes inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to determine reorder levels which will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Establishes communication with assigned suppliers to enable timely, accurate and forward-looking analysis of supplier's ability to fulfill production needs.
Actively tracks inventory and reports shortage or overage of inventory or supply.
Submits requisitions for raw material inventories to meet production demands.
Reorders supplies as needed for production.
Communicates to purchasing, any material issues that may arise through the
course of production.
Collaborates with Shipping and Receiving to ensure materials for each product is on schedule.
Identifies areas for process improvement, cost and waste reduction.
Prepares or contributes to preparation of frequent reports detailing supplier's progress.
Documents production data including volume, raw input consumption and yield.
Maintains a clear and organized plant production floor.
Expedites any projects on the production floor where necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in maintaining inventory in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing environment.
Ability to analyze/interpret data and take appropriate action.
Working knowledge of email, Internet Explorer, Excel and Access.
