Position Title: Principal Project Engineer
Locations: May be based out of Hackettstown, NJ Chicago, IL Gainesville, GA Waco, TX
Segment: Wrigley Confectionery
Reports To: Senior Regional Engineering Manager: Chocolate Process or Major Projects
Purpose of Role
This Principal Project Engineer will be a technical lead for the larger and more complex projects executed by the Chocolate Process team or the Major Projects team and will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects from ideation to project closure. The person in this role will potentially lead projects in process areas, buildings and infrastructure, general manufacturing processes, and packaging systems depending on business needs. The role owns overall leadership of major capital projects through the MWC Engineering Execution Standard for executional excellence in project delivery.

  • Fostering open relationships with functional groups on the project team
  • Provide segment leadership for engineering projects with close collaboration with Industrial engineers, activity management lead and supply director.
  • Developing skills that support excellence in execution and leadership, including effective communications and establishing clear accountability with the project team, contractors and vendors.
  • Using the adopted project management techniques, MWC Engineering Work Process, to manage projects. Aspects of the standard include, but are not limited to, team leadership, chartering, scoping, resource planning, budget development & management, schedule development & management, commercial buy planning, stakeholder engagement & communication, risk management, safe design & construction safety, and project closeout.
  • Providing leadership and engineering knowledge required to plan and execute projects
  • Providing guidance for engineering and design decisions required to execute projects
  • Ensuring team members comply with and reinforce safety, security and environmental policies and consistency in the use of designated engineering tools and practices

  • Develop external business relationships including construction contractors and engineering resources
  • Proactively develop practices and methodologies that increase the effectiveness and reduces the costs of engineering
  • Balance use of internal engineering resources with third party engineering firms for maximum value and efficiency
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to project teams and the sites
  • Effectively represent regional engineering function at the sites
  • Manage project teams to meet project objectives as agreed by stakeholders throughout project execution
  • Manage technical project associates that may be distributed across multiple sites
  • Support the adherence to the Five Principles
  • Drive project teams to focus on safety, environmental, food safety, etc. on all projects.
  • Support the development of engineering associates

Mission Critical Competencies and Key Functional Skills/Knowledge
  • 10-15 years experience in an comparable technical position - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferable
  • In-Depth understanding of project management principals and general knowledge of engineering disciplines: Building, Infrastructure, Civil, Utilities, Process, Packaging, Electrical, Construction or Computer Services
  • In-depth understanding of functional engineering area of expertise
  • Team skills - high performance team experience
  • Action Oriented, Interpersonal Savvy, Communication Skills, Planning, Self-Development, Dealing with Ambiguity, Creativity, Innovation Management

Desired Education
Bachelors of Science in engineering; an advanced degree in engineering, MBA or PMP certification considered a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
