Trailer Mechanic

Job Description

ReConserve is the largest, most experienced recycler of bakery, cereal grain, snack foods and related food by-products in the United States. The Flowery Branch facility has a processing plant and transportation functions involved with the conversion of bakery and related food by-products into DPB, Dried Bakery Product, an animal feed ingredient.


We are seeking a well rounded trailer mechanic to to join our team in support of the trailer maintenance required to maintain our fleet of over 200 trailers of various configurations.


 


Position: Trailer Mechanic


Reports to Transportation Manager


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Repair and provide preventative maintenance for company owned trailers and tractors, which includes:


o Brake inspections and replacements


o Diagnosing and repairing / replacing electrical components including trailer lighting


o Significant welding / fabrication experience to provide support for various mechanical needs on our trailers


o Complete DOT inspections certifications for both trailers and tractors


Complete various PM servicing of our tractors and trailers


 


 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Experience with DOT trailer inspections / certifications


Experience / knowledge of trailer braking systems and repairs


Troubleshooting trailer wiring


Cutting and welding experience


Understanding / experience with hydraulic systems


Class A CDL a plus


High School Diploma or equivalent required, Tech School training a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
